HRDC |
HRDC is short for the Hollins Repertory Dance Company, but we like to go by HRDC. We are a student run club at the magical Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. Thanks for stopping by <3 |
i think this blog is going to be deleted and perhaps recreated in some other way. thanks for sticking it out with us. much love
As part of this blog, I think it’d be great to not only post about what hollins dance is up to but to include submissions from everybody. So what I’d love to see is whatever inspires you. Could be dances, music videos, photos, visual art, anything. This aspect of the blog could be used as creative stimulus for all of us!
Come on, you know you want to!

HELLO NEW HRDC FOLLOWERS!
It’s so wonderful to log back into this blog and see we have some new followers. Welcome! Glad to see you here. So nice of you to follow us.
I am so so looking forward to the new school year. I have some new fundraising ideas and cannot wait to be with my beautiful dancers and teachers.
One of our guest artists coming to hollins for the semester is Hejin Jang. She is an absolutely brilliant woman. So I leave you with a video of her work. Enjoy!

this ballet forever in my heart. no matter what version i watch, it always contains the most beautiful pas de deuxs. i like this one particularly because of how contemporary her arms are. lovely.

hey everyone!
i’ve wanted to post this video on here for awhile, because it continuously inspires me in some way. Karinne Keithley is an artist i really admire, and i hang onto this solo because i saw her perform it at adf when i was 15 i think, and i was in the four week school. i think it had a big influence on the way i use repetition and rhythm in my work now (and how i like to stay in one place haha). and i watch it often these days, realizing how i’m always kind of touching it in my solo work. so yeah, just wanted to share :)
hope you’re having a great summer!
