HRDC is short for the Hollins Repertory Dance Company, but we like to go by HRDC. We are a student run club at the magical Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. Thanks for stopping by <3 |
so recently i’ve become very intrigued by the andy warhol screen tests. they remind me of a few different improvisation exercises i’ve done having to do with performative presence. it makes me think about what “being real” is and when we are performing, or how much time it takes to shed performative layers. i also just think these videos are very interesting alongside andy warhol’s other work, which for me has a lot to do with being fake, and questioning the value of people and things.
also a little note:
warhol usually played these videos at parties, and in silence. sometimes improvised music or just the sound of the event would be present but not usually a song like in this video.
